What is Pop Art?
If you know the story of Andy Warhol, you know that in the 1950's Andy first earned his living creating commercial works, illustrations and ads for clients in New York City. Andy Warhol's contribution to the fine arts was his legitimization of the commercial silkscreen. Commercial arts became fine arts and thus the Pop Movement was born: "Life is Art." Andy Warhol's use of commercial printmaking techniques to create a new, American fine art is the inspiration behind the POP ART clothing, products and artwork found on this website.
